When the office plans a getaway, you know it's going to be special. But this time, it wasn't just any trip but, it was an epic adventure to Sukute Beach, a sunlit paradise tucked away on the banks of the roaring Bhotekoshi River!
The Pre-Trip Rush
Thursday, the day before the trip, was a whirlwind. With excitement bubbling up and the clock ticking, I found myself juggling between wrapping up work and participating in a lively 6-7 office futsal match. Amid all the chaos, I had to dash out to shop for swimming gear; a costume, cap, goggles, and shorts for the much-anticipated swimming and rafting. The anticipation of the upcoming adventure made the day feel both longer and more thrilling. Colleagues whispered excitedly in the office, sharing last-minute packing tips and hyping each other up for the trip. The mood was electric!
The Journey Begins

Friday dawned earlier than usual, with alarms ringing at 5:00 AM. The streets were still waking up as I made my way to the office by 7:00 AM. One by one, my colleagues arrived, some visibly sleep-deprived but energized by the prospect of an unforgettable adventure. After ensuring everyone was accounted for, we finally boarded the bus around 8:00 AM. The initial quietness of the ride quickly dissolved into a storm of laughter, singing, and dance-offs, especially in the back seats, where the most energetic souls had gathered.
Around 10:00 AM, we stopped for breakfast at a roadside hotel. As expected, the food didn’t exactly impress; a reminder that highway hotels rarely do. But the energy of our group more than made up for it. We huddled together, munching on whatever was available, and sharing jokes. Back on the road, the playlist shifted from soft melodies to dance beats, and the bus transformed into a moving party. Bumpy roads didn’t matter; they only added to the excitement, making us sway and giggle as if the universe itself was joining our joyride.
Arrival at Sukute Beach - Perfect Place to Welcome Summer
After what felt like both an eternity and a blink, we reached Sukute Beach around 1:00 PM. The sight before us was breathtaking. A serene resort set along the gushing Bhotekoshi River, surrounded by lush greenery and the echoing calls of nature. Our resort was pre-booked and had everything one could wish for. A vibrant bar with a dance floor, a restaurant boasting a stunning view, expansive garden spaces with bonfire pits, and cozy huts scattered throughout. The ambiance was a blend of relaxation and thrill, inviting us to soak in every moment.
Hungry and excited, we quickly freshened up for a hearty buffet lunch. Plates filled with steaming dal-bhat, vegetables, tender meats, and tangy pickles satisfied our hunger. It wasn't just a meal. It felt like a feast shared among a large, lively family. Post-lunch, the pool called to us. Without a second thought, we changed into our swimwear and took the plunge. The chilled water was invigorating, and soon it was a riot of splashes, water games, laughter, and selfies. Some of us helped colleagues learn to swim, while others floated around, beers in hand, reveling in the carefree vibe.
Exploring, Playing, and Bonding
Later in the afternoon, we wandered around the area, savoring ice cream and indulging in spicy, tangy 'chatpate.' Some gathered for a game of table tennis, while others tackled an intense 8-ball pool match. The atmosphere was filled with shouts, cheers, and teasing; the kind that only grows stronger when colleagues become friends.
As the sun set, we gathered around a bonfire in the garden, strumming guitars, singing, snacking, and sharing stories. The golden glow of the fire cast dancing shadows on our faces, and the cool breeze of the evening made everything feel more surreal. Gradually, the evening escalated into a wild dance party. The bar’s speakers blasted energetic beats, and everyone, from the shyest introverts to the liveliest extroverts, let loose. The laughter, the dance-offs, the high-fives; it was pure, untamed joy.
Dinner brought us back together, but not for long. After another hearty meal, we broke into smaller groups — some sharing deep conversations, others singing and grilling BBQ. By midnight, exhaustion caught up, and we reluctantly retreated to our rooms, knowing the next day had more excitement in store.
The Morning After - Game Time!
Morning arrived with the sound of chirping birds and a soft breeze from the river. We freshened up and gathered for a breakfast of steaming tea, coffee, bread, beans, fruits, and eggs. The pool, TT table, and 8-ball pool table saw their share of action again as everyone tried to squeeze out every bit of fun.
Then came the highlight - The Office Games!
Bingo kicked things off with all eyes on the prize - two movie tickets. It was a tense, thrilling match, with Rajan Koirala finally claiming victory. The musical chairs that followed were a delightful trip back to childhood, bringing out laughter, playful competitiveness, and nostalgia. The last three competitors battled fiercely, with the winner proudly taking home a pair of AirPods! The 'Matka Futai' game saw participants blindfolded and armed with sticks, aiming to break the pots and win pen drives. Cheers, giggles, and near-misses added to the excitement.
Rafting - The Ultimate Adventure
By early noon, it was time for the main event, Rafting! The thrill surged as we geared up with helmets, life jackets, and paddles. We took a short bus ride to the starting point, where our guide briefed us on safety and technique. Divided into groups of eight, we launched into the cold, roaring waters, chanting “Jaya Bhotekoshi!” at the top of our lungs.
The river’s icy spray slapped our faces as we paddled, sometimes smoothly, sometimes chaotically. Water battles broke out between rafts, screams of excitement filled the air, and even the initial nervousness faded into exhilaration. Our raft guides stopped midway to take photos; both one-by-one and group photos. Later we found, the stop was not only for photos but cliff-jumping too. Cliff-jumping added a whole new level of adrenaline, with many of us leaping off multiple times, our fear replaced by pure thrill. After 2 hours of paddling, splashing, singing, and racing, we finally reached the resort; drenched, shivering, but overjoyed.
The Farewell
One last swim, a quick meal, and it was time to pack up. The bus ride back was quieter; tired faces, sleepy eyes, but hearts full of memories. By 7:30 PM, we were back at the office, reluctant to part ways yet grateful for the incredible experience.
This tour wasn’t just a getaway but was a bonding experience, a break from the routine, and a reminder that we’re more than just colleagues; we’re a family. Sukute Beach, thank you for the unforgettable memories!
